↑ Ketoacidosis risk (difficulty breathing, vomiting, abdominal pain, confusion, sleepiness)
↑ risks of serious UTI (urinary tract infections)
↑ bone fractures
* FDA Warning Aug 2015 Linagliptin (and DPP-4 Inhibitors) for diabetes may cause severe joint pain and all diabetes drugs in this subfamily of diabetes drugs but Sitagliptin (Januvia) may cause heart failure
